US Open 2008: Roddick Bounced by Djokovic

Andy Roddick has been playing the best tennis of his career recently. For this reason many expected Roddick to knock off Novak Djokovic and earn a spot in the semifinals against Roger Federer. This did not happen. Djokovic defeated Roddick in four sets and then trashed him after the match. Djokovic's antics were a crowd pleaser when he first entered the tennis spotlight, but now the crowd has turned on the youngster. Roddick had accused Djokovic of faking injuries and Novak did not take too kindly to these words. After his victory Djokovic was quoted as saying, "You know, Andy was saying I have 16 injuries in the last match. Obviously, I don't -- right?" He wasn't done there despite the loud boos echoing over the stadium. Djokovic went onto say, "They're (the crowd) already against me because they think I'm faking everything, so it's all right." These words are helping Djokovic become the tennis villian and I love every word of it. This guy has an edge to him and it ! shows in his playing style. The semifinal match between Djokovic and Federer will be a fantastic one. I am going to pick Djokovic to win and advance to the finals.
The other semifinal matchup has #1 in the world Rafael Nadal batting #6 Andy Murray. Nadal is showing no signs of slowing down, but Murray could push him into 5 sets because his play has been solid. I still am taking Nadal. This makes a Nadal-Djokovic final. Novak Djokovic will be the champion of this years' US Open. Novak is playing extremely well right now and has himself very motivated now that the crowd has turned on him. I suggest you do not miss any of these three remaining matches because all three will be great ones.
