Even more offseason thoughts and predictions {DEN, DET, GSW, HOU}

Here are some more of my offseason thoughts and predictions. I have done the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Bobcats, Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Dallas Mavericks. Now here are the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, and the Houston Rockets.

Denver Nuggets

Carmelo A! nthony wanted to bring in a great player like how the Lakers brought in Pau Gasol and when Phoenix traded for Shaquille O'Neal. But all they could do is trade Von Wafer to Portland for Taurean Green.

So I think the Nuggets should move Carmelo somewhere. Like to New Jersey would be good. I would swap him with Eduardo Najera and Chucky Atkins for Devin Harris and Richard Jefferson. Or they could keep Melo and trade Kenyon Martin and Linas Kleiza to the Kings for Ron Artest. Then Melo would stop complaining. He already has Marcus Camby, Martin, and Allen Iverson! They just aren't as good because AI and Melo keep hogging the ball. This season, they averaged 52.1 points together. And the team is averaging 110.7 points. Two people are averaging almost half of their team's points. That's selfish. If they gave Camby the ball more and he scored, the Nuggets would be more successful. He only averaged 9.1 points in the 07-08 season.

Grade: B

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons just barely got knocked out of the playoffs. They had a great run. They have great players. They just take bad shots.

Their power forward {Rasheed Wallace} can shoot threes {sometimes}, but he takes a little too many 3 point attempts. I watched last night's game and it was pretty bad. The Pistons took too many threes. So I think they should acquire a shooter in the offseason. By free agent, trade, whatever. The team can shoot, but threes don't always go in. And Rasheed needs to cut down on his technicals. He gets too many. So I also suggest they swap Rasheed to somewhere that needs a decent pwer forward.

Grade: A-

Golden State Warriors

I thought since they gave up Jason Richardson, they weren't going to be a great team. They won 48 games, but they didn't make it to the playoffs. It was horrible.

I was surprised because for Richardson, they got some Brandan Wright guy that hardly did anything for Golden State. But they were very successful. Their lineup is decent {Andris Biedrins, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Monta Ellis, and Baron Davis}, but I didn't think they could win that many games. I think they should probably get some more centers {better ones} because they only have Biedrins and then two other weaklings, Patrick O'Bryant and Kosta Perovic.

So I say get someone like Mark Blount, Erick Dampier {a former Warrior}, or Andrew Bogut or someone like that. If they get one of those guys, and ke! ep all of their lineup including Biedrins, they would most lik! ely make it to the postseason next year.

Grade: B

Houston Rockets

Yao Ming went down to injury, but I think he should be back next season. They were a great team, going through a 22 game win streak or however long it was. It was amazing. And they didn't even need Yao in most of the games.

They have Yao, Luis Scola, Shane Battier, Tracy McGrady, and Rafer Alston. It's a pretty good looking team. Plus, they have Bobby Jackson, Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry, and a bunch of other great bench players. They just need to get rid of some of them. Like Steve Novak and Mike Harris are not very good. I don't know why they gave Gerald Green up for Loren Woods! Green would be an amazing role player for the Rockets! Oh well.

So I think they should also bring in another backup shooting guard. They only have Luther Head, and he hardly played this season. He played in 73 games {averaged 18.9 minutes} and averaged 7.6 points a game. He shou! ld deserve a sixth man spot on the roster. He's good enough for that spot.
